Visual Basic 2005 .NET or Visual C++?

I've been messing around with programming for years, mostly making console applications with C/C++. Today I downloaded Visual Basic 2005 .NET, and it's easy to use. (But hard to code, I don't know an ounce of basic. :P) I want to make Windows applications, so I was wondering, what's better for windows applications, Visual Basic, or Visual C++? Becuase in C++, don't you have to code the windows yourself? (And what's up with C#? Does that have anything to do with this, and is it better than C++?) Thanks.

Visual Basic 2005 .NET or Visual C++?
well, the choice of the programming language depends on the nature of the application u wanna develop

c# and VB.net are very easy to learn and require less effort in programming

but if u r looking for perfomance issues, C++ is way better, C++ is used widely for developing games and low-level components
Reply:Actually, with the latest versions of Visual Studio (2005), once you compile the applications, there is "virtually" no difference between an application coded in VB or C++/C# (if similarly written), so I try both. Visual Basic, in my opinion, is a little more intuitive. Report It

Reply:stick with c++ since it's widely used and is the standards. c# is microsoft version of c i believe. they say c# is crap from what i've heard, even microsoft themselve don't use it..
